Dolce & Gabbana AltaModa Haute Jewelry and Couture Showcase

The DOLCE & GABBANA Alta Moda Haute Jewelry and Couture runway show took place in one of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples – Temple of Concordia in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily.

The unmatched power of the enduring myths of classicism have proven as an inspiration to the designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who have reinterpreted the beauty of female divinities in their AltaModa Collection. 

Models walked the runway adorning exceptional jewelry and dresses incorporating rich embroidery with precious gemstones(pearls, rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires), cut velvets from Venice with real gold threading, reproductions of Jacques-Louis David’s neoclassical paintings printed on loose woven silk gazar resembling artists’ canvas and dresses shimmering with coral fronds—nearby town Sciacca that is famed for its coral jewelry. Italy meets Greece in an exquisite medley that only Dolce & Gabbana could dream up!
